Salt Lake City crazy!

Salt Lake, Salt Lake, Salt Lake... when we approached our West Coast Tour, I was most looking forward to performing in Salt Lake City. Why... because its home. Its home where I can show my talent and this amazing experience to everyone I love. I cannot believe it has already come and gone. 

It was by far my favorite week on tour. It was a little crazy at times, but I wouldn't regret any moment of that craziness. 

Everyone who took the time to come see me. Thank you. You're support means the world to me. 

I was able to set aside a little time to take my cute tour girls up to Park City. Lets just say we had more fun than expected.

So I haven't written much about tour, so I thought I would do a quick update. We are heading into the last 3 months of tour. Depressing because our show Toy Story 3 is closing, so our cast is most likely going to be very split up after this. Saying goodbye to many faces in hopes that our paths cross again very soon. Until then we are trying to live the next 3 months up. Having as much fun as we can and planning as many activities as possible. Since we just celebrated a new year I thought I would just recap the last month and finally show you some pictures.

January!

Ontario, California
We rang in the New Year in Ontario, California and 2 shows. Yikes. Neil came to visit me for New Years which was the best thing ever. We did a group dinner at Benihana's and then a company party at the hotel afterwards. Can't compare it to the New Years I have spent at my cabin with Mom & Dad, but it was still a lot of fun.

Long Beach, California
Neil was able to stay for my days off in Long Beach, so we walked along the beach, watched the Rose Bowl at Chili's and just enjoyed each other's company. The day he left we went bowling and got ice cream before he had to head to the airport. It was so much fun! I love it when he comes and visits me.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas was insane! The family came down, and when I say family... I mean the whole family! Mom came down early to spend a couple days with me and my cousin Christopher and his wife Desiree. We were able to spend some time with him and his two babies! Harper & Hudson are the cutest! Come Thursday the rest of them drove down Dad, Kenny, Heather, Neil, Aunt Dana, Aunt Chris, Joey, Bailey, Bay's boyfriend, Nicole, Aunt Stanna and James. Vegas is already crazy, so adding my family, it was quite the week. I was feeling sick most of the week, which totally sucked! We still managed to have a lot of fun by going to Love by Cirque & the Wax Museum. Mom gave us all a good laugh when we were all a little stressed when trying to figure out directions. Needless to say, my family is amazing and hilarious. I am very blessed! I love them more than words can express.

Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix is a very clean city! Ghost town at night, kind of scary. We had a candy part for Michael and Sergei because it was their Birthdays. Everyone had to dress up with some sort of sweet inspiration. Rachel Halvorson and I went as licorice. The party was very 'sweet'. Also, long day of shows also calls for some shenanigans. So we had some fun creating pyramids and trying not to injure ourselves and in the end we enjoyed a delicious cake made by Jessica Koller. 

Home! 

I was given the opportunity to go home for 2 days to do advance PR's for Salt Lake City. I flew out Sunday night after shows in Phoenix and was in a world wind of PR's and running around SLC the next morning. It was so crazy, but so much fun! I love doing PR's, especially for home. It just made me more excited for our tour to come to Salt Lake. Less than 3 weeks!!! I managed to celebrate Neil's 21st Birthday with him by surprising him with a few close friends at a restaurant and having dinner. It was a lot of fun and I am glad I was able to come home for it. Oh... and Dad showed me his and Mom's first house together. It was so cute! 

San Diego, Fresno, Stockton, California
San Diego was very nice, but not so much Fresno and Stockton. But like always we try to make the best of every week. In Fresno the crew set up a huge screen to watch the Super Bowl, but I think that was the only positive thing about Fresno. Our hotel was nasty, the place was sketchy and we were basically set up outside. COLD! The hotel at Stockton was gorgeous! They treated us like royalty and threw us a BBQ and everything. The rooms were great and the beds were even better. I really enjoyed that week.

Less than 3 weeks till HOME!

Tis' the Day to Love.

Celebrating a day of love.

Celebrate however you feel, but do celebrate. 

I find this Holiday to be so romantic, whether you've fallen in love or not. EVERYONE has love in their heart, don't deny it. Maybe it's not for a certain boy or a girl, but maybe for your family, your friends or your adorable pet. I have always loved Valentines Day because the air is filled with warmth that everyone is out there doing something for someone they love. The stores are filled with hearts, flowers and candy. Nothing says I love you like a big box of chocolates boys. 

I remember making my valentine box in elementary school and skipping homework just to create the perfect box. I wanted all the boys to leave me something special. And they did. I will never forget the 4th grader that left me a Star Wars Valentine with a pack of juicy fruit gum and a 50 cent necklace. I thought I was in love. If only I knew. Kenny received some funny Valentines as well. Girls writing to him that they thought he was cute and that they wanted him to be his Valentine, Kenny was the hunk of his 6th grade class, except for the day he wore my Limited Too jeans to school. No big deal! Mom has held on to these Valentine cards because they make us all laugh now and they are keepsakes from little sparks created in our hearts.

My Dad has been my favorite Valentine. Each Valentines Day he would leave a card upon my bed that would bring tears to my eyes each year. A single card with words expressed was all I wanted. There is no love greater than a love between a father & daughter. I may not be a kid anymore, but I will always remain his 'little princess' and his forever valentine. 

Getting older, Valentines has turned into huge bouquet of roses, new running shoes, Starbucks gift cards, sweat suits and perfumes, but I still receive that one card from my first Valentine. 

Another year passes and I find my heart growing bigger for the ones I love. I make more room because I cant seem to find it okay to let one take over the other. 

Yes, I am the girl from Utah on my tour and falling in love at the young age of 21 is YOUNG, but back at home it is very normal. When you know you know. So I guess I can say...

AND... as I was writing this post I received a beautiful bouquet of roses to my room. I started crying when the hotel guy handed me my flowers. How embarrassing! I have the most amazing Valentine, best friend and boyfriend. I love you Neil John!

its the little things in life that keeps it going round for me.

like.

being lifted off the ground when receiving a hug. A simple thank you after doing something for someone else. Knowing all the words to a song. The excitement of your pet when you return home. Compliments even when you look like a mess. Taking a perfect picture. Laughing so hard with a friend your smile hurts and your eyes are tearing. Watching a new episode of your favorite TV show. Recalling good memories with friends. When little kids reach to hold your hand. Cuddling up next to the fireplace. Looking back and seeing how far you've come. Talking to an old friend and its like nothing has changed. Going to bed knowing you can sleep as long as you want. Reuniting with a loved one at the airport. Songs that give you chills. Being surrounded by people you love. Getting a rush of ideas after writers block.

I highlighted a few of the ones that inspired me with this blog post.

Last week I was given the opportunity to fly home and do advance PR's for my show, Toy Story 3. How could I say no to that. It was a very busy two days, but very fun and so worth it.
I flew out Sunday night after our last show in Phoenix and was soon to be surprised with a loved one at the Phoenix airport. I was standing in line waiting to board my flight when I saw a girl a head of me who looked very familiar. She was holding a LuLu lemon bag and I was quit curious which items were in the bag, but I was still trying to process that the back of this person was someone I knew. I twisted my head and my eyes flew open, it was my cousin Nicole. My cousin Nicole who is pretty much my sister. I ran up behind her tapped her on the shoulder and we both embraced, star-struck by the whole situation. What a small world. My cousin and I at the same airport, boarding the same flight and soon we were sitting side by side tickling each others arms and falling asleep. Little things like that.
It was a quick flight and soon I was home bound. I asked my cute boyfriend to pick me up at the airport, but didn't expect to see him standing in baggage claim. I ran up to him and hugged him longer then expected. Its the little things, like taking that extra time to park and walk into the airport. It made my night.
I had about an hour of sleep before my wrenching alarm went off. It was time to get ready for a crazy day full of interviews and running around to every news station in Utah. I arrived at my home rink, Cottonwood Heights and was soon greeted by many familiar faces. Cottonwood has always been my second home. The people I skate with and the staff are like family It was so warming to be welcomed again like nothing had changed. We had a morning full of interviews, skating, teaching the hoe-down-throw-down, freezing our butts off, chatting with old friends, seeing my favorite coaches and laughing during just about every interview. Even with one hour of sleep it was the little things that warmed my heart like, being asked to take pictures with my little skaters and them explaining to me how much they look up to me. 
After the event at Cottonwood we quickly ran to my next in studio interview. It was so fun to catch up with LuLu Heart and chat about how much has changed in our lives during our drive to each station. A few Starbuck's pit stops and in and out of studios and I was finally complete with day 1. Phew! It's the little things that make me smile, like a warm Starbucks and a chat with a good friend. 
That late-afternoon called for a nap. Cuddling with my two favorite cuddle buddies, Lucky & Neil (you knew it was coming Neil sorry). We wrapped ourselves into a blanket turned on the fireplace and I passed out, but of course had to wake up for one of Dad's amazing dinners and the Bachelor of course! Even though Dad was the commentary during the WHOLE 2 hours of the Bachelor, it made me miss him more and more. Little things like that. 
Bring on day 2!
Day two was a lot easier than day one. I had an in studio interview at 97.1 ZHT (which is my favorite radio station) and it was a very fun interview, until they asked if my Mom was one of those Mom's from Toddler and Tiara's. Oh gosh. Of course I said no, but they were convinced I was kidding. I wasn't Mom, I promise you're nothing like those women. The funniest moment was probably during the interview my phone was going off like crazy! Thinking to myself oh I bet my friends are texting me saying they are listening to me on the radio... I was wrong. All the messages were from my brother texting me to give him a shout out haha he is too funny! Little things like having your brother be so proud of you he shares it to the world.
I had so much fun at home and was so thankful for the opportunity to come to Salt Lake and be some-what famous. No Dad, this is still not something you can compare to winning American Idol, but it's pretty close :)
I still cannot believe that this is my job. This past year and a half has flown by and as I look back I remember the little things that made me smile along the way. I am so thankful for this life I have been given.
Do me a favor and remember the little things this year and be thankful for what you have.

Resolutions.

When it comes to the beginning of a new year we all bring ourselves together to celebrate the previous 12 months. The good times the year held, the memories we made, the topics we laughed over, the accomplishments we made, the goals we created and even the moments that took our breath away. We celebrate with the clink of champagne glasses, loud noise makers, watching the annual ball drop in New York City, kissing that one special person at midnight or my favorite memory sledding down our icy hill outside at our cabin with my cute Mom and my Aunt Sheri. Either way it is a night of celebration with friends, family and loved ones. 

A new year is a new beginning. It is a whole new year to continue in the direction you are already headed or to turn and create a new direction. Many people find themselves setting the same new years resolutions, in hopes to actually accomplish it this year. Mine has always been the same, to get in better shape. I cant say I failed each year, but I stayed the same. Which I have no reason to complain, but I got to thinking when that clocked ticked down and I was still finishing up our two show day. My year has been insane. 

Two years ago if you told I was going to travel the United States and seven cities outside the United States, I would have laughed and called you crazy. Well... here I am a year in a half later telling you it’s true. I have seen over 43 cities in the United States and over 4 cities in British Columbia and Mexico. I cant believe how much I have seen and what I have experienced. Disney On Ice has been a true blessing in my life. It forced me to see the big picture and to grow up very quickly. I was very closed minded before tour and I am thankful I have had this opportunity to open my mind and see the world with a different outlook. 

For those of you who know me... I am an organized perfectionist. I consider it a complement. haha If I knew that I was going to be living out of two suitcases each at 50 lbs, jumping in and out of taxis to get to places I wanted to go, living in hotel rooms, cooking my meals in a bathroom, traveling with a group over 70 people, working and performing long hard hours; you would probably think to yourself that kind of work is not for Kylee. Well, not only did I prove myself wrong, but I probably proved you wrong as well. Maybe just a little? 

So yes, this year has been more than eventful and it can only make me think of this next year. I hope for more adventure, which will continue with about 30 more cities in the United States, including Salt Lake City. I know be excited. But I want the adventure to continue when I return home. With that being my career in coaching or settling with a major in journalism and broadcasting. One thing I want the most out of this year is to be happy, but I not only wish this upon myself, but for my friends and family too. 

You can set a resolution to get in better shape, to find a new job, to continue with school  and get better grades, to start a family, to stay organized (mom that one is for you), to find an adventure, to move away from home, but what is all of this doing? They are things to make you happy. Be self centered when it comes to your resolution this year because it is your happiness that keeps this world going round. It doesn’t matter if people don’t agree with your resolution because if they don’t support you in your decision then they clearly don’t matter in your life. Live the life you want to live, by the rules you want to create and by the people who surround you for YOU. 

I know how it feels to be judged and to have loved ones not agree with the decisions you make in life, but when it comes down to it all... I make my decisions for myself and for my happiness. If I listened to everyone who doubted me in the beginning I wouldn’t be where I am today; traveling, happy, excited about life and in love.

To everyone who stuck by my side, I hope this year you focus on your happiness and the people you love. 

I look forward to this next year and the challenges it brings. I feel I can take on anything if I just continue to set my heart and soul on it.
